Inspirada
The master planned community Inspirada, formerly known as South Edge, will encompass 1,940 acres south of the Henderson Executive airport. The community will have roughly 11,500 housing units and 300 acres of parks and open space. Instead of home builders constructing rows upon rows of cookie-cutter homes, Focus has decided to try something new. Build homes designed to encourage a sense of community. New Urbanism, the community will reduce the need for vehicles and increase the use of mass transit, and encourage people to leave their homes and meet their neighbors. Yards will be minimized but in their place will be community parks and pools. Each village will have a central park. "Instead of everyone being in their own world, they'll be out in the community" Robert Herr said, City Public Works Asst. There will be trails for hiking, biking, and jogging; even some horses will be able to travel throughout Henderson.
Seven homebuilders will be involved in the project, including Toll Brothers, Beazer, Focus Group Property, KB Home, Kimball Hill, Meritage, Pardee and Woodside homes. KB and Toll Brothers have models available to look at already! KB has the largest stake in the project building about half the homes. Services will be integrated into the community by the builders, including fire and police stations, community parks, schools and new roadways. Inspirada will be comprised of seven villages of roughly 200 acres each, with more intimate neighborhoods inside.
In the middle of the Inspirada community will be a 300 acre town center that will feature commercial districts as well as residential, including the possibility of high density housing. Inspirada will feature several different distinct home "styles", including Village homes, Estate homes, Garden homes, City homes, Mansion and live/work homes. The community is designed to encourage activity and freedom. Each of Inspirada's neighborhoods are close knit without walls allowing pedestrians to walk to their destination. Each neighborhood is built around a community park and recreation center.
